Do you have a demonstrated track-record of driving digitalisation initiatives from a highly regulated environment? Then look at this exciting opportunity as we are searching for a Vice President and Head of Digital Transformation for Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Medical Writing with impact across Novo Nordisk & Development.
The position
As the new Vice President and Head of Digital Transformation your main responsibility will be to build, develop and lead a new state-of-the-art Digital Transformation unit within the Submissions and Life Cycle Management business area at Novo Nordisk. The Digital Transformation unit will play a key role in transforming the business area into a highly efficient and productive organisation while enabling the business area strategy and objectives through the right digital products.
In this role, you will set the strategic direction for the Digital Transformation unit including developing long- and short-term business plans ensuring development, progress and implementation of digital initiatives and projects. This will enable realisation of the defined targets across the business area as well as drive continuous tracking of the business area’s digitalisation as-is state vs external best practices.
As the leader of the Digital Transformation unit, you will personally as well as through other leaders, build and lead a focused and engaged organisation. You will lead through leaders and have a handful of direct reports responsible for an area of 40 dedicated and highly skilled employees.
Furthermore, you will proactively participate in the cross-functional “Digital Lead Group” to align on the right standards and priorities across the value chain and lead digitalisation initiatives in and outside of the business area to ensure these are executed in alignment with the overall Development mindset of “ONE Development”. This requires a dedicated focus on enabling efficient and integrated product development. You will promote and ensure transparency of the portfolio of digitalisation initiatives and ensure that this transparency is shared across the business area.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Submissions and Life Cycle Management, you will be a part of the leadership team and act as the ‘Digital Lead’ and represent the area in the Development-level digitalisation governance.
Qualifications
You hold an academic degree within STEM or business and have several years of experience preferably from the pharmaceutical or MedTech industry driving digital transformation. We expect you to have a proven track-record of driving digitalisation initiatives at both strategic and tactical/operational level. In addition, you have a proven leadership track-record and experience with leading leaders.
As a person you are visionary and able to transform ideas into actions including translating complicated issues and scenarios to actionable strategies balancing cost, risk and gains optimally. Your interpersonal and collaborative skills are excellent, and you have an ability to confidently make decisions and set direction.
Relying on your strong communication skills you can create clarity and deliver your messages in an impactful yet respectful way. You have high motivational skills, including the ability to engage and empower the people in your team and across the organisation. You have a global mindset and experience dealing with a complex stakeholder landscape, working in cross-functional teams and you are willing to learn and embrace new ways of working.
Your passion for people and strong focus on ensuring diversity and inclusion is a key part of everyday life, and you have a genuine passion for developing people while being authentic and honest. You lead by example and act as a Novo Nordisk Way (our values) role model by being accountable, ambitious, responsible, engaged with stakeholders and ready for change.
We offer an inspiring and inclusive work environment and teamwork in close collaboration with talented colleagues with diverse backgrounds, and you will have a great opportunity for skill building and personal development.
