About the department
In Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI), we produce the pharmaceutical backbone of our many quality products. DAPI Process Support is part of Manufacturing Development, and here five teams are responsible for the timely support of the many processes that create our products. We identify, develop and implement optimisation opportunities and help colleagues navigate the waters of complex processes in a highly regulated environment when issues arise, initiatives are implemented or strategies are created. The department is located in Bagsværd.

In your new team, DAPI Fermentation, Recovery and Cleaning Support, 14 lab technicians and chemist look forward to welcome you. Generally, we are engaged in supporting processes and projects across manufacturing plants like Insulin Manufacturing 1 and 2 (IM1 and IM2) and our Purification Plants (PP). But we are looking into a future where significant business needs justify a range of very ambitious projects and initiatives – and we are getting ready to support these as well.

The job
As the new Associate Manager in DAPI Fermentation, Recovery and Cleaning Support, you will be expected to ensure DAPI and Manufacturing Development (MDEV) prioritizations and strategies are followed and embedded in the team. You will be setting tangible goals and communicate them clearly, ensuring that everyone knows how to be a success. You will be responsible for managing the support of a range of processes regarding fermentation, recovery and cleaning, including trouble shooting, issue resolving, development and implementation of precautionary measures and regulatory documentation to health authorities. A keen eye for optimisation opportunities has always been a hallmark for Novo Nordisk, providing us with clear paths towards capacity increases and further improvements of safety and quality. Hence, you will also be managing a host of optimisation initiatives, ensuring some of the upscaling needs are met this way.

However, maybe the most challenging part of your new job will be to occupy an impactful position in the ongoing strategic initiatives that will allow us to meet the growing demands of a market where more people living with chronical diseases wish to benefit from our quality products. You will be an integral part of establishing a live-support function to our brand new facilities in the United States, for the first time in department history going truly global in our everyday tasks. Also, our colleagues across the Atlantic right now need our expertise to finish their enormous fermentation and recovery plant project, where you will manage how we best share our competencies and experience.

New technologies, new analytical methods and new product introductions to our manufacturing lines will be garnishing your work week, always keeping you your toes and at the forefront of scientific advances. Qualifications
You probably have earned yourself a degree within chemistry, chemical, medical or production engineering or similar. On a solid professional foundation, you have built at least three-five years of managing people in a manufacturing or development setup not entirely unlike ours in size and complexity. You have intricate knowledge of fermentation and recovery processes in a pharmaceutical setting – with all the regulatory demands that go with the business. You are eager to utilise the many opportunities in contemporary and future technologies, and your solid results show it.

Your people skills will be paramount in this position – how you are able to inspire and energise your surroundings, set clear and ambitious goals and generally lead with empathy, individually shaped development challenges and behavioural role-modelling will determine your success. Also, we expect you to be able to bridge cultural, professional and geographical distances with ease, always focusing on how to reach sustainable solutions in an ever-changing environment.
Obviously, fluency in the English language is a must for this position. Likewise, a technical proficiency in Danish will prove to be more than just nice to have.
