The Senior Strategy and Planning Manager role is your opportunity to drive transformation through the leadership of strategy design and implementation globally, to impact positively at every level of the organization.
The APMM Safety & Resilience Function is brand new and represents a more integrated, simplified approach to some of APMMs most important business activities.
Made up of four teams covering Occupational Health, Safety and Environment; Security, Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management; Safety & Resilience Strategy; and Safety and Resilience Risk and Insights.
The function has clearly defined purpose to:
• Protect our people, the environment and our business
• Eliminate fatalities and severe injuries
• Enable Maersk to be a preferred employer
• Provide safe and resilient products and services to our customers.
The Global Safety & Resilience Strategy team is responsible for driving continuous improvement in our Safety and Resilience culture and performance by embedding our strategy across APMM. With Centers of Excellence covering Safety, Strategy, Analytics, Learning, Behaviour and Visual Design the team will focus on delivering global direction and solutions for our people, operations and customers.
The team is responsible for leading the strategy management, review and cascade process to reflect the enhanced scope of the new function, based on our Safety Differently principles. This will enable an agile approach to HSSE at APMM that puts our workers needs central to our efforts and elevates HSSE from compliance alone to constant care in line with our company values.
The team is also responsible for new tool development and implementation support to guide the business globally – through managing high impact safety and resilience projects to optimize improvement and elevating Maersk's pioneering "Learning Hub" concept to build an engaged learning organisation for Safety and Resilience at APMM.
As a member of the Global Safety and Resilience Strategy Team you will help define, lead and embed the functional Safety and Organizational Resilience strategy, metrics and ways of working to guide effective alignment and integration across the business.
This will involve building strong, effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.
Other key tasks:
• Own & maintain the functional strategy for Safety and Resilience to ensure that it is informed by and responsive to relevant internal and external learning insights – working collaboratively with the Learning Hub Lead and brand functional leads to ensure that all relevant learning is captured, assimilated and used to inform the strategy review and planning process
• Define and lead the core strategy and planning review cycle underpinned by external research insights and internal learning – including engagement in ongoing review and analysis of learning insights enabled through our Learning Hub strategy include learning from learning teams, incidents, critical risk projects, leadership engagement, insights capture tools and survey data
• Work with the Senior Transformation and Research Lead to ensure appropriate depth and breadth of learning insights from internal sources and external research inform strategy development for the Safety and Resilience function
• Work with the Senior Engagement Manager to ensure ongoing visibility, stakeholder dialogue and impact of all strategy content is addressed in the functional Engagement Plan
• Collaborate to build and maintain the Safety and Resilience Functional plan reflecting the annual planning process research requirements and in line with stakeholder needs, requirement and expectations
• Ensure timely planning, delivery and execution in line with the Functional plan and stakeholder needs, requirements and expectations
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to support the development of Safety and Resilience plans that continually reflect and align with the agreed strategic priorities.
• Build strong relationships across the business gaining practical understanding of diverse business needs and requirements from a geographic, business function and structural perspective to support and advise the business on their strategic plans and performance.
The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree or an equivalent appropriate professional qualification aligned to HSSE management, HSSE leadership, Business Strategy and/or Strategic Planning.
You:
• Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning skills with experience leading and managing strategy and plan development across multiple locations
• Have experience of successfully engaging with diverse stakeholders and teams both internally and externally to promote excellence both in your approach and high impact outcomes
• Have an innovative and people-centric approach to engaging with others and driving excellence
• Have excellent analytical skills
• Have excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
• Have the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Have excellent time management skills with a focus towards delivery
• Have excellent English language skills verbal and written
