Would you like to take up the challenge of decarbonizing Maersk’s fleet of container ships as Senior Project Manager at Maersk’s Copenhagen headquarters? You will be an integral part of A P Moller – Maersk’s decarbonization journey working in Fleet Technology.
Fleet Technology is a specialized maritime engineering competence center responsible for ship design, retrofit and expert support to the Maersk fleet of more than 300 container vessels.
Fleet Technology delivers the complete project lifecycle covering new-buildings, ship conversions, technical innovation, vessel recycling and a variety of other specialist technical services to the Maersk fleet.We Offer
A fantastic opportunity to be part of our industry leading decarbonisation ambition in an exciting senior project role with the world’s largest and most efficient operator of container vessels.
You will be working on Maersk’s largest and strategically important retrofit projects, directly impacting how our fleet is operated in the future.
Being part of an enthusiastic and international team, you will work with a group of engineers from marine and other backgrounds.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to work in a global environment alongside Maersk’s own commercial and strategic colleagues. Your actions will have a direct impact on how Maersk conducts business in the short and long term future.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing and implementing modifications to the existing fleet of vessels to meet our ambitious net zero by 2040 goal. You will be working closely with major suppliers and shipyards to achieve this.
Your primary responsibilities will be to:
- Initiate, implement and manage major retrofit projects efficiently and effectively
- Lead a team from multiple technical and commercial disciplines
- Work effectively to drive external suppliers and stakeholders towards our goals
- Facilitate excellent communication and cooperation between teams from Engineering, Site Offices and Shipyards
Who we are looking for
You are a passionate and experienced Project Manager with at least 10 years’ experience working on large scale retrofit projects preferably with a mechanical engineering, marine or offshore background.
The following skills are not required but may benefit you further in this role:
You have developed a strong technical management profile with a goal orientated mind set through at least 15 years professional experience.
You have strong interpersonal and team working skills. You are a confident and effective communicator at all levels of a global organization
It will be considered a significant benefit if you can document prior experience in working on marine and offshore projects with a mechanical focus.
It will also be considered a benefit, if you have recently worked with technologies and strategies to decarbonise large ocean-going vessels.
A project management certification is a benefit but not a pre-requisite.
And finally, you display proficiency in written and spoken English.
