Are you an experienced laboratory technician who is passionate about characterisation of protein and peptide binding interactions? Would you like to be part of a diverse and innovative department, then this may be a job for you?
The position
Our work is facilitated by multidisciplinary project teams, where you guided by the project responsible scientist will plan, execute, evaluate, and document experiments. You will primarily support the research projects with surface plasmon resonance based binding kinetics or affinity ranking of drug candidates. Your daily routine may vary from standard tasks to more challenging and innovative work.
We expect that you proactively identify and resolve experimental issues, performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as required. It is also important that you take an interest in identification and progress of novel technologies including employment of automation technologies and efficient data handling methodologies.
With a multitude of different nationalities in the team, both working and social language is English. The position is permanent and based at our site in Måløv, Denmark.
Qualifications
You have a keen interest in protein interactions and drug research, and you have an education as Laboratory Technician. You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with binding kinetics and relevant technologies for assessment of molecular binding interactions with emphasis on surface plasmon resonance. You are well-structured in your work and used to performing tasks independently with a strong commitment to high quality analysis, data handling, and documentation. It will further be an advantage if you have experience within programming and automation.
As a person you are proactive and engaged, with a positive attitude to new ideas, people, and challenges. You thrive in a dynamic research environment being familiar with prioritization and problem solving in a laboratory context. You are a team player; think and act with integrity and respect, have good communication skills, and you share knowledge and experience freely with other members of the team.
About the department
You will become part of the Structure and Interactions department which resides in the division of Assay, Analysis and Characterisation in Global Research Technology in Novo Nordisk. Currently, the department consists of 15 highly skilled and great to work with laboratory Technicians (4) and scientists (11). We play an important role in identification, optimization, and characterization of novel drug candidates in research projects. We deliver deeper structure function understanding of our molecules and their interaction partners enabling projects to make informed decisions on selecting the right drug candidate for further development. As experts we are passionate about solving scientific and technical challenges through synergistic collaborations.
