The position
As Clinical Operations Lead, you take on a senior role, being accountable for all operational aspects of the start-up activities for a clinical trial. In this role, we expect you to drive how we best conduct our clinical trials to the benefit of our participants and be a strong contributor towards translating our organisational aspirations into operational actions (e.g., How do we include decentralised aspects into our clinical trials? How do we ensure patient centricity when designing our clinical trials? How do we design our trials to be the most environmentally sustainable?) You will assume responsibility for one or two trials, depending on trial complexity.
You will be accountable for trial start-up activities from protocol outline to successful patient recruitment with great exposure to the organisation and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Global Project Teams, Trial Squads, Medical and Science Teams, Diabetes area etc..)
We have two open permanent positions within our area. In both positions, you will be part of a strong cross-functional team planning and setting up a clinical trial.

On a personal level, you have project management experience, fluent in written and verbal English, and have the ability and willingness to adjust quickly to new situations in a continuously developing environment.

The Clinical Operations Lead will be part of the Clinical Drug Development (CDD) organization within the larger Development organization. CDD is a project-centric organisation driving the development portfolio through world-wide clinical trial activities in close collaboration with Novo Nordisk colleagues around the world.
Together with our colleagues across the value chain in HQ and affiliates, we ensure through scientific evidence that we can provide safe and efficacious treatment to people living with diabetes and other chronic diseases.

Qualifications
You are expected to have:
- Hold a MSc in Natural Science with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a BSc in Natural Science or equivalent and combine with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in clinical trial methodology and operational aspects of trial initiation, inclusiv.
- Solid knowledge and experience in clinical IT systems (e.g. EDC, IWRS, etc.).
- Depth knowledge and understanding of vendor management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are needed to succeed in this role.
