Are you the Data Engineer that will help us to deliver innovative digital and data-driven solutions that are built on modern cloud services? Are you motivated by instrument data capture, scientific data transformation and data-flow automation to boost traditional scientific research laboratories at Novo Nordisk? The position
We are on an important journey to drive change and create the lab of the future. As a Data Engineer you will be working in a fast-paced and agile environment where we are laying the foundation to create high value and innovative data products.
You will be working on various projects, each tailored to specific business use cases that have a variety of different problem spaces within the digital and pharmaceutical domains. (You are only constraint by your imagination, we are using the latest technologies.)

About the department
The department CMC Data Applications and Support (DAS) is part of CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control) within Novo Nordisk’s Research & Early Development (R&ED) family. We are a support team for injectable and oral product development.
R&ED acts between the research unit and the production, spanning from early development to phase 3 clinical trials and registration. Our ambition is to improve our patients lives by developing the world finest drug substance and drug products.
We aim to create a paradigm altering approach to drug development by redesigning and digitalizing the processes. Our area consists of highly skilled subject matter experts with different scientific backgrounds, ranging from formulation specialists and data scientists to analytical experts and automation engineers. And they need you, an entrepreneurial minded data engineer to establish the framework for our success. The position

You will be working on various projects, each tailored to specific business use cases that have a variety of different problem spaces within the digital and pharmaceutical domains. (You are only constraint by your imagination, we are using the latest technologies.)
We offer you the opportunity to work with:
- Helping to drive optimization, testing and tooling to deliver stable applications and improve data quality.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders in R&ED (lab technicians, scientist, and other subject matter experts) and in the digital sector (software engineers, business analysts, domain architects, data partners etc.).
- Using best practices in continuous integration and delivery.
- Building scalable batch and streaming data processing systems.
- Using enterprise tools and other components that make up our data ecosystem.
- Maintaining and iteratively improve existing data-driven solutions in a regulated environment.
- Supporting data consumers in business intelligence with building dashboards and generating reports for critical business processes.
Qualifications
As a person you are a proactive team player that naturally builds relations to colleagues and stakeholders in the organization. You can communicate complex technical matters to a variety of stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise. Finally, you find it easy to evaluate issues and then develop solutions that are both creative and effective for our organization.
Moreover, you have:
- Worked with various cloud services for storage, data ingestion, data transformation and (serverless) application development. We use both AWS and Azure.
- Familiar with SQL and databases.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
- Knowledge about data modelling and data storage techniques.
- A deep understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
- You care about cultural frameworks like Agile, DevOps, and DataOps.
