In your new role you will be responsible for conducting Virus Clearance studies in collaboration with the other Laboratory Technicians and Development Scientists in the team. Examples of studies could be virus inactivation and virus removal in different steps in the production process conducted in laboratory scale. Your primary tasks will be: Chromatographic runs on Äkta systems, including column packing. Aseptic work with mammalian cells, including cell-based assays. Conducting qPCR assays. Production of media and reagents, updating SOPs, and collaborating on laboratory work planning and environmental health and safety. Environmental health and safety work - possibly as working environment representative You will collaborate closely with your team colleagues, as well as with the Quality Assurance (QA) department. Your workload will be evenly distributed between laboratory work and documentation tasks. We offer an evolving position in a dynamic, social, and inclusive team with a high degree of independency. Continuous improvements, process optimizations and digitalization are an integrated part of our daily work. Currently, we are operating in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) requirements, but we are in the process of transitioning to a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality system. Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we expect you: Have an education as a Laboratory Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, or in a related field. Are proficient in chromatography, particularly with ÄKTA systems and in qPCR techniques. Have hands-on experience with mammalian cells. Have a basic understanding of protein chemistry, along with a background in GMP practices. Are comfortable with both spoken and written English usage. The Virus Safety Team is part of the Virology and Raw Materials department. We have almost 60 colleagues organized into five teams, all dedicated to patient safety. Our team, focused on mammalian cell platform projects, consists of 15 colleagues – 6 Laboratory Technicians and 9 Development Scientists.
