As an Associate Director, New Product Planning you will be commercially responsible for early pipeline projects within the Diabetes area.
You will work with the new product planning team to develop and deliver (amongst other things):
• Target product profile (TPP)
• Early positioning
• Estimation of sales and patient potential
• Full project valuations (NPV and eNPV) for mature projects The above will be based on collecting and conducting primary and secondary market research on market and stakeholder preferences and shaping these insights into actionable commercial recommendations. • Conducting commercial assessments to enable key project decisions and aligning these through the Early Commercial Team
• Driving commercial input for the Product Development Plan and creating financial valuations of assets as they prepare to enter Phase 2 clinical development
• Participating in portfolio assessments and development of commercial guidance to research, as well as contributing to the annual value assessment of the late-stage development portfolio. On a daily basis, you will work in a global context but interact primarily with headquarters functions across a diverse network of internal colleagues from Research & Development, Commercial, Market Access & Pricing, Strategic Finance, Regulatory, Medical, and Product Supply. You will report to the Director and Head of Diabetes NPP. Physical presence is required in our offices in Copenhagen (Søborg), Denmark- only candidates who are willing to commute to the Copenhagen Area will be considered.
You can expect some limited travel days per year. While this position is a maternity cover position from Jan. 1st, 2024 – Dec. 31st, 2024, there is still a possibility that it may be extended into a permanent role based on business needs and performance. Qualifications
To succeed in the role, you have:
• A Master’s degree in business or economics combined with extensive skills in natural science, or a scientific Master’s degree combined with strong commercial experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a pharmaceutical company is required and only candidates with extensive experience in this field will be considered
• Experience working in a New Product Planning team or similar functions such as early portfolio or commercial analytics is preferred.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with a proven ability to translate analysis into insights and recommendations
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication skills
• Previous experience from working with/within: Diabetes or related therapy areas, analytical function in a Commercial team, or other key functions in the drug development value chain (e.g., R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs) would be advantageous. Excellent interpersonal skills are expected for this position, as it requires working with multiple stakeholders in the company. A track record of delivering high quality and finding new ways to achieve goals is also necessary. Being proactive and inspired by ways of working smarter is important. Additionally, you have demonstrated the ability to work individually as well as part of a team on multiple projects in parallel. About the department
The Diabetes Early Portfolio & Insights (EP&I) functional area sets the commercial direction for Novo Nordisk’s future drug portfolio within Diabetes. The EP&I area consists of departments covering New Product Planning, Competitive Intelligence, Therapy Area Strategy, Customer Insights, and Forecasting. Within the EP&I functional area, the NPP department holds the commercial responsibility for the early portfolio of projects across the therapeutic area. In the NPP department, you will join a team of 5, all with varying backgrounds across commercial, finance, science, and medical, and you will work in collaboration with the broader NPP team across all of Novo Nordisk’s therapy areas.
