The position
As an Associate Strategy Project Directorin Development Strategy, you will drive and take part in a range of different strategic projects and process improvements across Development. This includes setting and implementing the overall strategic direction for Development by identifying new opportunities, strategic challenges, and industry trends. Other projects are focused on therapeutic areas within Novo Nordisk’s expanding portfolio and pipeline or strategic processes across functional areas.

About the department
Development is an Executive Vice President area in Novo Nordisk with the responsibility of developing and maturing innovative treatment solutions to improve lives of people with diabetes and other serious chronic diseases, with a strong ambition to be the best in the world at doing this.
In Development Strategy, we support the Development organisation in setting and achieving its strategic aspirations. The open position offers an exciting learning opportunity – and a good steppingstone for further opportunities across Novo Nordisk, as you will be joining a high performing team working with stakeholders across the value chain. We are a team of 8 colleagues with an informal atmosphere, and an emphasis on an having an engaging work environment with strong collaboration and sparring, ensuring that we together deliver strong results.

The position
As an Associate Strategy Project Directorin Development Strategy, you will drive and take part in a range of different strategic projects and process improvements across Development. Other projects are focused on therapeutic areas within Novo Nordisk’s expanding portfolio and pipeline or strategic processes across functional areas.
In this position, you will:
- Lead strategic projects of high complexity
- Drive communication towards cross-functional stakeholders incl. senior leadership, ensuring strategic alignment and buy-in and facilitating decision making towards a common vision
- Act as a strategic sparring partner to the project owners as well as coach more junior colleagues
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in the team and various departments both within Development and across the value chain in Novo Nordisk.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Medicine/Science, Business/Economics, Engineering) in combination with +5 years relevant work experience, preferably from the pharmaceutical industry
- Extensive project management expertise with a strong track record of driving projects of a strategic nature as well as change management initiatives
- Experience with collaboration across functions and organisational levels including experience in interacting with senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Solid analytical skills and a strategic mindset that allows you to set direction in ambiguous situations
