Senior International Medical Director to evaluate and plan new indications for CagriSema
We are looking for a medical doctor (MD) with broad experience in clinical drug development, preferably supported by translational research and business development expertise, to evaluate and plan new therapeutic indications for CagriSema and support research activities in Amylin biology.
The Department
To accelerate and expand the promising novel therapy CagriSema, a dedicated area has been established as part of Clinical Drug Development located in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. In Medical & Science, we are medically responsible for the clinical development program. Our responsibilities include planning and execution of clinical trials (phases 1-4) and non-interventional studies, medical and scientific support to health authority interactions, publications, early research activities, presentations, and more. You will be joining an area of 11 medical doctors and 3 clinical pharmacologists, and we expect to grow.
The position
In this role, your main responsibilities will be to medically evaluate the opportunities to expand the clinical development program outside the main indications of Obesity and Diabetes. You will obtain and leverage knowledge from disease experts internally and externally and work with them on ensuring state of the art development plans. You will bring your knowledge into cross-functional teams to assess unmet need, development feasibility, target label claims, regulatory pathway, expected value generation, cost and risks, and prepare clear and concise actionable recommendations for governance. As part of this work, you will lead development of trial designs and clinical development plans allowing for regulatory interactions. Moreover, you will provide clinical support for research activities targeting the amylin receptor for both CagriSema and pre-clinical assets.
Qualifications
You hold a university degree as a Medical Doctor with strong pharma or biotech based clinical drug development experience that includes strategic evaluation of new assets or indications. Preferably, you have academic or industry translational experience.
As a professional, you thrive in a dynamic and international environment with attention to quality and innovation. You have strong coordination/planning and collaborative capabilities and have key attributes including analytical and strategic skills, creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and ability to prioritise tasks. You enjoy working with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities supporting this. Most importantly you are a lifelong learner and welcome the opportunity to develop new skills and gain further experience within drug development.
We work in a global environment hence proficiency in English is needed. The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. and occasional travel activity may be required.
