Maersk is on an exciting transformation journey to become global integrator of container logistics. To enable growth, and develop solutions and value propositions that addresses the needs of our customers from various industry verticals, we are looking for a talented and experienced Head of Customer Solutions & Vertical Insights coming with significant experience from Logistics industry.
The successful candidate will head a team of customer solution managers and vertical insights managers, who together work towards designing and developing market-leading value propositions for customers from various segments and industry verticals (Automotive, FMCG, Retail, Lifestyle, Chemicals, Technology & Electronics, Refrigerated cargo).
To be successful in the role, the candidate must have significant leadership experience from international transportation & logistics environment, be an enthusiastic, authentic and passionate leader, excel in communication and stakeholder management and be able to act with high sense of independence. Reporting into the Global Head of Customer Insights & Solutions, you will be part of global Sales & Marketing organization. Here we are responsible for driving the strategic agenda for our various customer segments, and industry verticals, ensuring that we deliver value and growth through dedicated solutions to our customers.
This is a senior (Director level) position where the successful candidate will hold a pivotal role in leading a team to translate customer insights into cross-product value propositions that create demonstrable customer value, and driving the strategic growth agenda for the verticals, together with the global industry vertical heads. We offer a dynamic work environment that encourages people to strive for excellence while testing new ideas.
Team collaboration, customer centricity, innovative mindset and high sense of ownership are keys for being successful in this role. You will work closely with other commercial teams in HQ and our countries. The role has 7-8 direct reports. Further, the HQ solutions team has dotted line to customer solution managers in the countries, hence functional leadership aspect of virtual team (e.g. training, best practice sharing, etc.) also exist in the role. • Heading and coaching a team of Senior Customer Solution Managers, who act as end-to-end project leaders, and lead the solution and value proposition design and development process, including translating customer insights into business solutions that bring together products in bundles to create value for customers.
• Heading and coaching a team of Vertical Customer Insights Managers who derive customer insights using the full spectrum of insight tools (e.g., desk research, qualitative and quantitative research, analysis) across various verticals, and support the global vertical heads in developing winning vertical strategies.
• Engage effectively with internal stakeholders across HQ (product, digital platforms, customer experience / customer service, marketing) and regions (leadership teams, sales, area solution manager, product managers, supply chain development) to jointly develop winning vertical solutions.
• Enable customer solutions to be differentiator for Maersk, helping to move from selling products mentality, to building and offering effective solutions that help our customers connecting and simplifying their supply chains.
• Ensuring the developed solutions are playing key role in the value proposition towards the customers in the relevant segment/ industry vertical and sub-vertical.
• Facilitating co-creation activities across the global organization
• Thorough understanding of the outside-in approach towards developing solutions and value propositions, using customer insights as primary tool to identify gaps in offerings. Then translating those into best possible solutions
• Facilitating global community of customer solution managers, fostering quality best practice sharing, training on relevant tools, etc.
• Facilitating quarterly exploration process, to ensure healthy pipeline of solutions
• Facilitating success story sharing within the global customer solution managers community

• 12+ years of experience with proven track record in designing and implementing international transport and logistics end-to-end solutions. Those must include experience with supply chain management (3PL/4PL) products. warehousing and distribution and general transportation products (Ocean FCL, LCL, Air).
• Significant project management experience
• Experienced managing, coaching and mentoring people
• Outstanding stakeholder management abilities
• Strong analytical skills
• Customer-centric mindset with an eye for innovation
• Strong communication skills, and ability to build long lasting relationships
• Excellent prioritization abilities
• Ability to multitask and perform
effectively in area with high uncertainty and ambiguity
• Resilient to change and comfortable with fast shifting priorities, workload and responsibilities
• Self-starter, self-motivator, comfortable with high level of autonomy, while also a team player
• Bachelor’s or other advanced degree
The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Some travel activities would be expected in the role.
