Do you like to lead as well as breaking new ground? Are you curious, enthusiastic, and positive? Do you want to develop your leadership as an Associate Manager for our Technical Project Managers who are specialised and highly skilled in all activities related to producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)? Then you may be our new colleague.

The Position

This position is a great opportunity to lead a team of approx. 10 CMC API project managers who drive activities through the different stages of clinical development, from Lead Candidate Selection to final regulatory approval.

As Associate manager, you set direction for your team by being approachable and communicating clearly and effectively both with the team and with your internal and external stakeholders. You ensure that your team lives up to current and future organisational goals. You monitor and evaluate the progress of projects and support the team’s continuous development. In this job you will have opportunities to grow personally and professionally by developing your leadership competencies at the same time as you increase your scientific and business insight.

You will be part of a leadership team, which consists of one Director and a total of three Associate managers. We discuss specific topics daily, and lead by example. Our working space is located amongst our API Technical Project Managers and the interactions are part of our work life.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Ideally, you hold a MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related disciplines.

  • You have knowledge of API and/or API production.

  • Leadership experience is desirable, though not required.

  • It is a great advantage if you previously have successfully motivated and developed team performance.

  • Strong communication skills both in spoken and written English.


You are passionate about people management, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team members and empower them.

About the Department

As part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D family, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development makes a significant difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for non-clinical and clinical trials with the help from approximately 1400 CMC employees. We develop and formulate all new processes, coming out of our research unit and through that we ensure best-in-class treatments to the market. CMC Development is organised in six areas of expertise supporting the entire drug development pipeline.

Our department, CMC API Project Office, consists of approximately 30 highly motivated employees located in Bagsværd. The department is involved in the entire portfolio of development projects moving through the clinical phases from early to late-stage drug substance development and production of drug substance candidates. We strive to have a high level of scientific knowledge and a helpful and pleasant working environment.
