The position
With the expansion into new therapy areas and a growing pipeline with increased interdependencies across our value chain, it is increasingly important to provide consistent analysis and understanding of the product development pipeline towards senior management and Governance.

The Portfolio Insights & Analysis team are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to drive portfolio management and support the growth of the portfolio. This role requires a strong combination of analytical and collaborative ways of working, focusing on leading our portfolio analysis. Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ideation, planning and execution of portfolio management analysis that support direction-setting and decision making for the Novo Nordisk Development pipeline
  • Drive projects and analysis with organisational reach across the EVP area and across the full value chain
  • Manage the implementation and adoption of an Enterprise Portfolio Management System (pWr)
  • Partner with the product leadership teams to create portfolio insights and transparency supporting Governance decision making
  • Support on portfolio reporting to Investor Relations and Board of Directors
  • Connecting with Development leadership, Portfolio Management Offices across Novo Nordisk, and other cross-functional stakeholders to help structure portfolio activities, discussions, and cross functional alignment

Since this is a newly established position, you will have the opportunity to impact and develop the role together with the Senior Manager and the rest of the team.

As P ortfolio Lead , you will be expected to proactively plan projects and deliveries, drive analyses and reports, as well as shape recommendations. A strong focus on stakeholder management is therefore essential, and the position requires association and alignment with stakeholders across functions and organisational levels, including senior level management.

Qualifications

  • Master in a relevant field combined with minimum 4-5 years of portfolio and investment management experience
  • Strong analytical capabilities based on solid quantitative skills with the ability to deliver with high quality under pressure
  • Excellent structural and project management skills and a proven track record of driving projects and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement/management skills along with the ability to build trusting relationships at all levels while driving agendas in an independent fashion

  • Skilled communicator and capable of effectively structuring material to allow easy decision making.

  • Good collaborator and a dedicated team player

  • The ideal candidate would have relevant experience within portfolio management valuation, equity analysis, or finance
  • Understanding of drug development in general, or a technical and scientific understanding is a plus

You will be engaged in a wide range of governance related tasks as well as ad hoc project management activities, with a broad variety of interactions with key senior stakeholders across the value chain and multiple EVP/SVP areas.

About the department
The Development EVP area is responsible for driving innovative clinical drug development and regulatory affairs worldwide from phase 2 to product introduction and through life cycle management. We work in global project teams with focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society. Our area is a staff function to Development Management reporting to the Development Strategy, Portfolio and Digitalisation CVP unit. It consists of professionals and specialists with backgrounds in science, business, and finance.

Development Portfolio Insights & Analysis is responsible for supporting our two governance boards (with members across NN at EVP and SVP level) and for providing portfolio perspectives ensuring solid governance prioritisation and decision making. The team is also responsible for the coordination of risk reporting across therapy areas and portfolio analytics to BoD (Board of Directors)
