We are looking for a dedicated laboratory technician with a passion for in vitro lab work to join the Heart & Skeletal Muscle Biology Department – is that you? Then please apply today.
The position
The laboratory technician will work closely with experienced scientists to support all aspects of the daily activities in the in vitro biology lab. From culturing primary human cells to conducting and analysing in vitro experiments. Most of your time will be spent in the laboratory, however, you will also be responsible for processing and reporting obtained data according to guidelines. Your daily routine may vary from repetitive standard tasks to challenging and innovative work. You will also be responsible for equipment, maintenance of equipment as well as general laboratory maintenance.
We are a diverse department with multiple nationalities. Hence, English is the common language. Moreover, results and analyses are reported in English using electronic notebooks.

About the department
The Heart and Skeletal Muscle department is anchored in the Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease research area within Global Drug Discovery (GDD), Novo Nordisk A/S. As part of Novo Nordisk’s strategy within chronic metabolic diseases, we are focusing on target identification, target validation and pre-clinical characterisation of new assets to become novel treatment options for patients living with cardiometabolic diseases. In close collaboration with our colleagues across GDD, we are working in an organ-centric and disease agnostic manner to develop, characterise and utilize in vitro tools to elucidate mode-of-action and profiling of novel biology and molecules for early evaluation of drug candidates.

The position

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct experiments in the laboratory
- Find solutions to practical issues
- Take responsibility for daily laboratory operations, for instance planning to ensure sufficient cells for experiments and optimizing workflows
- Continuously learn about new cellular models and techniques
- Collect and report results to scientists in the team
- Get the unique possibility to grow and learn about early-stage research in an industry-setting with international colleagues
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of practical laboratory experience, including handling of mammalian cells (passing and differentiating), analytical methods e.g., flow cytometry, Elisa, qPCR
- Education as Laboratory Technician maybe continued your studies and gradudated as Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Science (from “Professionshøjskolen”) or equivalent
- Knowledge and/or interest within in vitro biology and perhaps cardiovascular disease
- Experience with molecular biology techniques such as siRNA
- Fluency in English writing and speaking
- Exp erience with lab automation systems is considered an asset.
- Experience with immunohistochemistry/fluorescent microscopy/high content imaging system is considered a plus
