We are looking for a medical doctor (MD) with solid experience in clinical drug development preferably within rare endocrine disorders. You will be medically responsible for the clinical development strategy for new assets for patients with Rare Endocrine Disorders.
The Department
Medical & Science, Rare Disease is part of Clinical Drug Development and situated in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. We are a learning and innovation hub that is constantly evolving, changing, and growing. We are passionate on developing new treatments for rare endocrine disorders and we span over various technologies such as proteins, small molecules, stem cells, gene therapy as platforms. In your role you will be part of a team of highly qualified and motivated colleagues.
We are responsible for clinical development strategies and programmes that enables us to get our innovative treatments and devices into the hands of patients who need them – safely and efficiently by working at the frontiers of discovery and bridging the early ideas from research to the marketed products in life cycle management. Leveraging your clinical experience and expertise in drug development is pivotal for products to be developed and in the end reach the patients to serve their needs. The area consists of 3 departments with approximately 30 people including medical doctors (MDs) representing more than 13 different nationalities that forms a strong basis for knowledge sharing and scientific discussions as well as a social and diverse environment.
The position
The successful candidate is a dedicated, open-minded and innovative team player with good collaborations skills, who can analyse and communicate data, design clinical trials, ensure medically sound regulatory interactions and drive learnings one step further into innovative implementation and simple execution. The candidate should have a patient-centric mindset, a strong experience in clinical trial design an execution and actively express a proactive attitude despite challenges.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Novo Nordisk organisation. The job is globally oriented and will require strong interactions with colleagues in regional offices as well as external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians and therapeutic experts. You should have a flair for building and using both internal and external network(s) and share learnings actively within the project and department.
The job requires a high degree of independence and team spirit as many decisions have high business impact. Therefore, focus as well as flexibility is important due to several tasks will be coming from different stakeholders and expectation management is key to success.
Your Qualifications
You must hold a university degree as a Medical Doctor, have experience with drug development and medical expertise in pharma/biotech industry. Having a PhD and clinical and/or drug development experience in endocrine diseases and especially in rare endocrine diseases is seen as an advantage.
We work in a global environment hence proficiency in English is needed and you should expect travelling activities of approximately 15-20 days per year.
