Are you a Design Leader that has empathy, can take responsibility, and set a clear vision for the future of design? If so, we’re looking for a Design Lead who can support our ambition to digitally transform Novo Nordisk and mature our people and processes around design.
About the department
You will join the Digital Accelerator (DA), a unit in Digital Data & IT which acts as a trusted advisor and partner on greenfield software development ventures helping business areas realise their digital aspirations. Novo Nordisk continues to invest in in-house digital products where we in the Digital Accelerator are partnering with the business to bring digital innovation ideas to life and mature our ways of working within digital products.
You will be part of an inspiring, and ambitious work environment, where modern software development methodologies, tools, teamwork, and a growth mindset are key.
The position
We are looking for a thought leader within design to guide and motivate talented individuals working with digital product design and development. Someone eager to drive maturity of the design capability - someone who can set the direction, guide, and drive the area. You will be playing an instrumental role in partnering with the business to bring this to life by maturing the design discipline.
You will be working with sophisticated business challenges in Novo Nordisk’s digital design area and will be exposed to stakeholders across the organisation. By utilizing your leadership skills and knowledge about design, you will be the overall expert on design, drive the capability, own and develop the design system and thereby support and guide the business areas.
Your responsibilities will include
Qualifications
You have completed a master’s degree (Digital Design, Business, Tech) or equivalent in a relevant field. You have +5 years of experience with design management as your primary focus. Additionally, you have documented excellent people management experience and documented track record as thought leader within design.
You are used to advocate for the value of design in a software development context, particularly to stakeholders who are used to making decisions based on cost or efficiency as a central purpose for new initiatives.

- Overall ownership of the design capabilities to ensure professionalising the design field (Formulate standards, best practices, coach and mentor designers, etc.)
- Be the design expert on programmes consisting of products of complex nature
- Owning the Design Systems for Digital Products and drive the design chapter to ensure implementation of design best practices across teams
- Defines and facilitates trainings and learnings around design
- Engage with top/senior level management both within Novo Nordisk and vendors
- Identify and attract talents within the design area to mature the capability and ensure recruitment of the right talents
