The position
As Senior Cultivation Scientist you will work with many different tasks within development and support of the cultivation processes in Biotech and Rare Diseases (BRD) in Novo Nordisk, and you will get the responsibility for one or more of these processes.
Your tasks will include:
Furthermore, you are expected to build and maintain a good relation to a wide range of stakeholders e.g., the production departments, CMOs, QA, R&D, RA, project managers, analytical departments and project groups.
We work as a team, and you will therefore have a broad variety of assignments and great

We enjoy getting together around social activities, looking out for each other, and maintaining a good work-life balance. Our team currently consists of 7 scientists, 8 technicians, 1 specialist and 1 PhD. student all working with different aspects of fermentation and cultivation.

Our team is part of the BRD Manufacturing Development & Quality Control area that has its base in Denmark. What other companies call Manufacturing Science & Analytical Technology (MSAT) we call Manufacturing Development. We are app. 460 colleagues who are the end-to-end station for product and process development for all BRD production facilities, driving innovation both when it comes to industry 4.0 technology and expansion of the product portfolio. Our area also includes the Quality Control unit for all BRD’s products. Together we drive change by always looking for improvements within our processes and in the way we work to make our products reach as many patients as possible.

The position
As Senior Cultivation Scientist you will work with many different tasks within development and support of the cultivation processes in Biotech and Rare Diseases (BRD) in Novo Nordisk, and you will get the responsibility for one or more of these processes.
Your tasks will include:
- Ownership and responsibility for the development package.
- Transfer of processes from development to production facilities.
- Creating and keeping central documents as Master Formulas and IPC updated.
- Responsibility for yield and process optimisations including laboratory work in our in-house laboratory.
- Specialised support to the ongoing production and the regulatory package.
Furthermore, you are expected to build and maintain a good relation to a wide range of stakeholders e.g., the production departments, CMOs, QA, R&D, RA, project managers, analytical departments and project groups.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
- A Master´s degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, or of similar relevance.
- +5 years of experience working with microbial and/or mammalian cultivation.
- Experience from a pharmaceutical production.
- Experience with LEAN and GMP.
- Experience in handling regulatory documents, data analysis and processes modelling are an advantage.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
