In this role, you will play a pivotal role in helping develop and operationalizing the data governance strategy for Research and Early Development area at [xxxxx]. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will lead the development and implementation of a fit-for-purpose strategy for data governance that encompasses people, process, and technology. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and increasing data literacy of the Research and Early Development area. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Contributing to developing a data governance strategy for Research and Early Development Data that encompasses people, process, and technology.
  • Leading the operationalization of the data governance strategy.
  • Developing credibility as a thought leader in data management and governance both within [xxxxx] and with external stakeholders.
  • Staying up to date with new data technologies while identifying new trends and data innovations.
  • Partnering with Data Stewards to cultivate a data driven culture with increasing data literacy.
  • Being a strong contributor to the Research Data Governance organization.
  • Qualifications
    To thrive and succeed in this position, we imagine you have:
  • A PhD within Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Computational Science.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the data field being exposed to data management principles and focused on cultivating a robust data-driven culture.
  • Solid experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries and understanding of the drug discovery value chain.
  • In-depth understanding of FAIR and ALCOA+ Principles.
  • A strong knowledge on the evolving concepts and practices in data management and experience with implementation of governance best practices.
  • Awareness and experience in Data Classification methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience in implementing Digital Transformation initiatives.
  • As a person, you lead by example coaching and supporting scientific specialists. You are a decision maker and performance driver with excellent communication and negotiation skills. You are used to collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. About The Department
