The Position

As Associate Manager you will lead and coach a team of 20 highly dedicated and competent employees, placed in our support team. The teams primary focus is to make sure that the processes in the department is always running in a stabile and optimal way.

The support team has the responsibility for different areas in the department and is divided accordingly into:

  • An equipment group consisting of academics and laboratory technicians, who make sure our equipment is fit for use.
  • Analytical chemists, who make sure the methods are performing optimal with lowest leadtime and rerun.
  • A training supporter, who is responsible for the training setup in the department
  • A GMP coordinator, who is responsible for coordinating audit and inspections as well as driving the quality agenda
  • A sample receiver, who make sure the samples are received and stored properly.

Your tasks will be:

  • To ensure the correct prioritization of tasks.
  • Support your team, in both personal and professional development.
  • Be a motivator for the team in working with continuous improvements and thereby helping to find new and smarter ways.

You will report to the Department Manager and be part of the management team.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A scientific or engineering academic degree.
  • Experience in Lean and GMP.
  • Management experience in a laboratory environment will be a plus.
  • Experience leading teams will be a plus.
  • Strong communication skills both in spoken and written English and Danish.

You are motivated by driving change and improvements, involving many stakeholders at various organisational levels. You have a high level of drive, initiative, persistence and you are result-oriented.

You are passionate about people management, with ability to inspire and motivate others and empower your team members. You have strong analytical skills to deliver excellent results.

Moreover, you will be expected to contribute to ongoing optimisation of our existing processes. This also entails being curious, about how other teams and departments work, both within and outside Novo Nordisk.

About the Department

The chemical QC department is a part of Injectable Finished Products (IFP) Manufacturing Development, and consists of 40 employees, organized in 2 teams. We are physically placed in Bagsværd. The department is responsible for a wide variety of chemical analysis on diabetes finished products (primarily HPLC), covering release, ID, stability, validation and customer complaint samples. We are receiving samples from our productions world-wide. We have a laboratory which is manned in the daytime on weekdays.

The QC department is a part of the VP-area, IFP QC DK, which consist of 2 chemical laboratories, 1 microbiological laboratory and a digitalisation and automation department. We have a close and inspiring collaboration across the area.

We are on a journey of digitalizing our QC laboratories, by introducing automated processes and connecting laboratory equipment to LIMS, in order to support a paperless future. In the moment the team is working on an automated HPLC sample preparation and on an automated samples storage facility. You are expected to support these projects and make sure the resources are in place to take care of the daily operations as well as contributing to these projects.
