The position
As the Global Lead in Obesity Health Equity, you will have a significant opportunity to drive change within and beyond Novo Nordisk's business, given our purpose to defeat serious chronic diseases. Working on obesity prevention, you'll drive strategy implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and advise decision-making bodies on Novo Nordisk's social responsibility impact. In this role, it’s crucial to engage with affiliates, top-tier institutions, organizations, and individuals in the public health space. Additionally, you will continuously execute against organizational strategy, capture data to benchmark against KPIs and M&E ambitions, and engage high-level internal and external stakeholders for visibility and collaboration.Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:• Provide technical guidance and support to our affiliates in designing contextually relevant and evidence-based local partnerships/programs for the prevention of obesity.
• Equip affiliates with the necessary technical tools, methodologies, and best practice examples to execute optimally, and monitor progress against established key performance indicators.
• Synthesize and deliver data-based analyses to support regular reporting, strategic decision-making, and planning related to local partnerships/programs for the prevention of obesity.
• Monitor, and communicate the latest scientific evidence for prevention policies and programs and identify how Novo Nordisk can play a role in scaling and replicating best practices.
• Build, develop, and maintain good relations with key internal stakeholders across the organization (in particular across HQ, IO, and Regional Office Sustainability Leads) as well as external implementation partners. Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have:
• A relevant master’s degree or PhD in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology or a related field
• In-depth knowledge of global health disparities and social determinants of health
• Demonstrated technical expertise in obesity prevention, including intervention design, impact evaluation, and data analysis
• Authored or co-authored scientific publications or journal articles
• Extensive experience in stakeholder management
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
A very high degree of independent decision-making and strategic thinking is required in this position, as well as the ability to effectively build relationships and work with stakeholders from various parts of the organization. As a person, you are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and results-oriented to deliver on objectives.

About the Department
Based in Bagsværd, Global Public Affairs & Sustainability (GPAS) is a global team of 100 people in five areas: Global Health Equity, Climate Change and health, Corporate Environmental Strategy, Global Public Affairs and Patient Relations, and ESG Strategy & Intelligence. The Global Health Equity team is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s social responsibility strategy, driving Novo Nordisk’s efforts in prevention, access, and affordability. The department consists of an Obesity Health Equity team and a Diabetes Health Equity team. The Obesity Health Equity team is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s partnerships and programs on childhood obesity, urban health, and access to holistic obesity care.
