The position Novo Nordisk is pursuing an ambitious strategy of improving the lives of people living with chronic diseases and drive business growth by innovating ground-breaking and new delivery solutions. With a rapidly growing portfolio of device projects, we are now looking for an Innovation Lead to drive the early development of our new drug delivery solutions. The innovation portfolio is broad and covers ‘classic’ injection devices such as autoinjectors, as well as new and alternative delivery technologies, all aimed at solving key problems such as scalability, sustainability, and convenience. In this role, you can expect the following:
  • Createideas for future delivery solutions and mature them until they are ready to enter the development phase. During this process, you will interact with multiple experts and stakeholders to ensure the desirability, viability, and feasibility of the solution.
  • Work in a team with other innovation leads and collaborate with our user insights, engineering, design, drug formulation, marketing, production, and regulatory teams.
  • Your working day will be dynamic with multiple tasks and interactions. Your success will be driven by your contributions to the project's execution, your way of engaging with colleagues and stakeholders, and your ability to create highly reliable products and exceptional patient experiences.
    • Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should have:
  • An academic degree in mechanical/biomedical/design engineering or a similar field, with experience in medical device design and familiarity with modelling (preferably in CATIA) and prototyping.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to break down complex situations into tangible next steps and execute them with the project team.
  • Experience with innovation processes, facilitation, ideation, and prototyping. The ability to clearly and effectively communicate problems, value propositions, solutions, and plans to stakeholders and governance to progress projects and facilitate decision-making.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
  • It would be considered an advantage if you have exposure to full life cycle management of devices or consumer products, including but not limited to advanced mechanical design, usability, and transfer to high-volume manufacturing, as well as a working knowledge of ISO 11608.
    • As a person, you are comfortable with taking initiative with a ‘can do’ mind-set, and you are motivated by finding creative solutions to problems. You are making independent prioritisations and you like to demonstrate attention to detail. In addition, you are a strong team player and enjoy working with multiple stakeholders across competence areas and are recognised for your interpersonal skills. About the department Innovation Project Management and Partnerships is part of Devices and Delivery Solutions (DDS), an area within Novo Nordisk’s global R&D organisation. We develop medical devices for self-treatment, supporting all business areas of Novo Nordisk A/S. The role is located in Hillerød, in the greater Copenhagen area, and we have a long and outstanding track record of developing the best, most innovative, and widely used insulin devices in the world. We design and develop devices with cutting edge technology. This being both pen devices and devices utilising novel administration routes and delivery technologies. We are expanding our portfolio of device projects that bring reliable engineering solutions together to meet the unmet needs of patients across the globe.
