About the department Global Medical Affairs (GMA) improves patients’ lives by being the leading partner in the generation, interpretation, and communication of scientific data with relevant stakeholders. We build the scientific foundation for the next generation of products across disease areas and sustain the strong scientific position of products marketed in over 165 countries. As part of focus areas, we drive key strategic process of cross-functional Integrated Evidence Strategy (IES) process within the Global organisation. The position
You will report to the CVP of Medical Portfolio within Global Medical Affairs. You will be responsible for heading up and setting direction for the Integrated Evidence Strategy function. Our ambition is to establish and strengthen the role of the IES function as a key value contribution and deliverable to the Novo Nordisk value chain. You will head up the GMA Integrated Evidence Strategy (IES) team and drive further integration and strengthening of this function into core processes within Development and our Commercial organisation. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing vision and setting direction for the GMA IES team
  • Being the driving force behind transforming the traditional evidence planning processes towards an integrated process, and strengthening the role and value contribution of GMA IES across the organisation
  • Identifying and setting ambitious targets for the function to support projects within key therapy areas in collaboration with adjacent functions
  • Driving initiatives to strengthen the evidence planning process across various levels of the organisation, e.g., Regions and Operations
  • Driving IES digitalization efforts in collaboration with the Digital Transformation Office
  • Identifying internal and external opportunities for continuous IES process- and project excellence
  • Qualifications We encourage candidates with a variety of backgrounds to apply, but you are required to have a relevant high-level education, preferably in life-science or relevant field, and solid understanding of pharmaceutical value chain and cross-functional evidence planning processes supporting it. In additional the above, a successful candidate also needs to show:
  • A track-record of transforming core processes across the enterprise
  • Strong and well-documented leadership skills
  • People management and communication capabilities
  • Experience with engaging in a global cross-functional team
  • Experience from evidence planning function within evidence planning, access or HEOR will be considered an advantage
  • As a person, you are ambitious, flexible and your interpersonal skills are second to none, enabling you to build trusting relationships across organisational levels and drive the needed change management and secure business continuity. You have a track-record of developing people, both in your formal line of responsibility and through informal leadership. You are a strong presenter and motivator which allows you to create buy-in to your initiatives. This is combined with strong negotiation skills. As a leader you can prioritise efforts to maximise the impact of the team and in this environment, you are recognised as a strong collaborator and facilitator and can identify solutions to complex challenges that meet stakeholder expectations.
