We expect that you are passionate about working with people and make them succeed in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders. We are around 20 highly skilled professionals and specialists divided into two teams responsible for Safety Risk Management. Safety Risk Management underpins most aspects of medical device development, so our work is integrated into various processes within the development and manufacturing landscape and our stakeholders have background in a variety of engineering and scientific disciplines.
We are looking into a significant increase in the number of clinical trials in the Novo Nordisk pipeline and therefore this position will become more strategically important going forward. The succesful candidate will be tasked with creating an efficient team setup to handle clinical trial requests and have cross organizational impact, including close collaboration with our clinical trial coordinator. Further you will in this role be tasked to optimize the way we work with risk management in Novo Nordisk by defining and optimize way of working with risk management in general. This will require working with our specialists on the solutions and subsequently ensure alignment with stakeholders outside your own organization.
You will maintain a balanced focus on the short- and long-term goals and build the risk management team´s ability to effectively translate business priorities into operational plans.
The position
As a Manager you will be managing one of the risk teams of 8-10 professionals. In this role you play a crucial role in maintaining and developing needed capabilities in Systems Engineering supporting the DDS Strategy. You will set direction, motivate, and cultivate high performance and engagement through the empowerment of the team. Furthermore you will ensure that the skills and capabilities of the team are up to date and aligned with the expectations and requirements from authorities and from the organization

You hold a master’s degree in engineering or similar. Preferably with experience from the pharmaceutical or medical device industry or similarly regulated related areas. Furthermore you are have the following knowledge:

Systems Engineering is part on the Devices & Delivery Solutions (DDS) organisation. In DDS we are passionate about developing the world’s best medical devices for the treatment of chronic diseases within our focused therapeutic areas: Diabetes, Obesity, Haemophilia & Growth hormone disorders.
We design and develop delivery systems for our treatments to ensure correct dosing and convenience for the patient. Our devices are developed in close collaboration between patients and the scientific discovery teams at Novo Nordisk. This ensures that the developed devices are safe and easy for the patients to use while being compatible with the drug products taken into development.

Your responsibilities:
- Manage coordination and collaboration between employees and stakeholders by clear and timely communication. With a continuous improvement mindset, you will work actively with resource allocation to our many exciting development projects and will work on implementing standard work to handle fly in request from the organization.
- Report to the director of Systems Engineering and work closely with the 5 other team leaders in SE to clarify direction and overall strategy for the team.
- Responsible for people processes and people development incl. ongoing feedback on performance, job descriptions, development tasks, salary and take an active role in recruitment and onboarding.
- Accountable for planning and execution of the technical deliverables in the device development projects covered by Systems Engineering - independently in accordance with the strategies and goals of Novo Nordisk, R&D and Devices & Delivery Solutions - DDS.
- Ensure effective performance follow-up to reach targets within deadlines, optimise the performance of the team and ensure clear target break-down and ownership. You will ensure that skills and competences in the team are aligned with the demands and requirements set by present and future development projects and stakeholders.
Qualifications

- Experience from a regulated industry preferably MD or IVD
