The position
This position is a unique opportunity to drive alignment and strategic communication planning on behalf of Global Obesity Communication. To ensure effective issues management across the entire obesity portfolio and liaise with Public Affairs to maximize disease awareness communication in partnership with organizations. You will be responsible for various tasks including: Strategic development and ownership of the external communications strategy and execution for the portfolio of marketed and pipeline products Ensure alignment and preparedness across all aspects of pre-launch and post-launch communication for current and future obesity therapies, including working closely with affiliates and regions around launch preparation Drive disease awareness initiatives aligned with the obesity therapy area strategy Plan and execute obesity communication strategies and tactics, help ensure alignment across other therapy areas, affiliates, and regions, and the Global Communications area Identify synergies between external communication activities and employee engagement and how to best align communication across audiences. You will be part of a larger network of people and can expect to collaborate with many different stakeholders at different levels across the global organization. Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you have 8+ years’ experience within a Healthcare or Pharma communication role and a proven track record in working within the area of commercial communications, pharmaceutical product launches, and disease awareness programs with documented results from a wide range of communication disciplines and across various channels. Additionally, we expect you to have: Master's degree in communications/business, public relations, journalism, and/or scientific degree Experience in linking commercial strategies with communication needs, taking ownership of driving the implementation of a communication plan Disease market knowledge within obesity/diabetes and/or other chronic disease areas (i.e. obesity or cardiovascular) is an advantage Experience in pharmaceutical marketing function in HQ and/or affiliate. Experience with medical communications and publications with a strong scientific understanding Additionally, we expect you are fluent in written and spoken English You would have the ability to work effectively with stakeholders from various parts of the organization and manage major projects independently. Ensuring they progress according to plans and timelines.
The job requires a high level of independence and initiative, to be successful, the position holder must be ready for change and have solid collaboration and coaching skills, business understanding, and persistence.
